JAIPUR: Director general of police (DGP) Harish Chandra Meena held a meeting of senior police officers and asked them to step up vigilance ahead of the festive season in the state on Saturday.
As per the officials, the meeting was attended by commissioners and inspector generals of Jaipur and Jodhpur range along with ADG, law and order, and ADG, intelligence.

DGP Meena said maintaining peace and communal harmony should be the first priority of the police during the festive season.
He asked them to gather intelligence inputs and chalk out plans to ensure law and order accordingly. He asked the state control room about criminal incidents at the range level. He also instructed the senior officials to go to their designated rural areas and take stock of law and order situation. He warned them of settling any long-pending disputes, which could snowball into violent incidents.
DS Dinkar, ADG, intelligence, said that each police station should depute a constable to gain intelligence inputs in their area.
ADG, law and order, Navdeep Singh, said, criminal incidents should be analysed on a weekly basis and prompt action should be taken against the guilty. He also suggested video recording of any untoward incident.
The police commissioners and range IGs assured the DGP of efforts being made to curb crime in their respective areas.
